The production and transportation of Türkiye's steel plants were affected by the earthquake,and the direct impact on China's steel import and export was almost negligible.

In terms of exports:Türkiye's steel supply declined periodically,and its exports were inhibited by post disaster reconstruction.Some orders from Europe and other places are expected to flow to China.However,considering that the overall export scale of steel products in Türkiye is about 1.5 million tons/month,and the export scale of deformed steel bars is only 0.5 million tons/month,although it will boost the price of steel products in the surrounding maritime market,the overall impact is relatively limited.

Import:according to argus research,Türkiye may import 327500 tons of scrap steel in February.The delay in the import of scrap steel during the February shipping period may lead to a lack of scrap steel imports in March,which may lead to an overflow in the supply of scrap steel in surrounding markets or create certain pressure on the price of scrap steel in regional markets.However,it is possible that the decline in the quotation of scrap steel in the maritime transport market in March will generate a certain amount of supplement to the scrap steel import market in China.Just in line with the gradual increase and resumption of production of domestic electric arc furnaces,it is expected that the drag effect on the overall domestic scrap price will not be significant.
